I am a gynecologist from India. I finished my MBBS in 2002 and I did diploma in Obstetrics and Gynecology and finished that in 2005. Since then I am working at different places as Gynecologist. My brother is a second year medicine resident in Illinois, US. This developed my interest to come to US. I gave my USMLE step 1 and got 250 score which is equivalent to top score (99 percentile). I applied for visa in Jan 2012 after my exam. During that application, I showed that I am going for my USMLE step 2 CS exam and observership in pulmonary medicine. I have a letter of observership from my brother's supervisor in US but it was not specific and the letter didnt have any dates. They refused my visa and said that Gynecology and pulmonary is very different field and the letter is not very specific too.

Next time, I gave my USMLE step 2 CK in India and got good score again. I applied again in June 2012 and I was rejected again stating that I applied first time for observership and now for step 2 CS. I am married and have a 2 year old son also. I am currently employed in private nursing home.

Thanks for helping me.

I'm sorry, what is the question?

But I agree, you are a gynocologist, work in a nursing home, and wanted to do an observation in pulmonary? Doesn't match

Good luck

The VOs know there is zero chance you will be returning to your country, and instead, will likely attempt to take a medical job away from an American medical resident....for 30 cents on the dollar. The VOs have an obligation to protect AMerican workers from the continuous onslaught of cheap foreign labor.
