Hello everyone, I was unable to find this information so I hope someone knows. My wife has the option to have her interview in Montreal or Ho Chi Minh City. I am interested in the embassy with the shortest wait time. My attorney told me that her clients going through the Montreal consualte had to wait about 2 months. Does anyone know how long it takes to get an interview in Ho Chi Minh City?

The reason she has the option is that she is a Vietnamese Citizen, and Canadian Permanat resident.

Thanks for your help!

Eric

Montreal is preferable. Montreal interviews are like a pleasant lunch date. HCMC is like a meat grinder.

Thanks for the quick reply. I see that the interview is more pleasant in Montreal, but can someone tell me how long the wait is for Ho Chi Minh City?

Thanks

You'll have better luck in the Vietnam forum/portal. Look at recent interviewee's time lines to see how the scheduling are running. Do the same for Montreal. Attorney feedback is often lacking.

FWIW: Have you filed the petition yet? If so (and not indicated HCMC) the consulates have discretion when accepting transfers. So there is not assurance that they will take it for someone not currently residing in VN.

FWIW, for K-1 visa, it took a little over 2 months after we submitted p3 till the interview date. We submitted p3 on 5/4 and my fiancé's interview date is 7/9.

Thank you Sanhquyen. It looks like the time will be the same so we will be going to Montreal and avoid the "meat grinder". Thanks Anh map

So sanhquyen how was the interview? How did your fiance feel after it? We are having to switch the interview to HCMC now and I am a little concerned about it being a more difficult interview.
