Hi Cathy,

I just want to thank you for being the motivator person to encourage me joining VJ your case is so similar to mine and because of you we applied for I 130 as a LPR now my husband is us citizen and we upgraded our petition from f2a to cr1 its about a month now but we just received an email from them saying your case is in active processing as us citizen but we didn't received any hard copy or online update is that normal

Are they counting from my piority date or from the date we made the request to upgrade

Ooh, glad to have been your inspiration!

It seems as if they don't always deal with these things the same way. Trevor called USCIS to tell them he was a citizen and they told him they would put in a service request. A week or so later he received something in writing confirming the service request. Another week or so after that he received an RFE requesting a copy of his Naturalisation Certificate. I would think that if you have an email they probably won't send out a hard copy and the online status is notoriously unreliable so I wouldn't worry about that. We got our NOA2 just a few days after they received the certificate so it seems that they did not reset our priority date.

Good luck.

Cathy
