Has anyone requested change of interview date?

We got our interview date for July 9 in Rio but it is a terrible time for me to travel. I emailed the embassy and they told me to contact them

again in 2 weeks because July dates are not yet in the system. I cannot wait so long to make travel arrangements. How can I find out if we can change the date?

Actually, if I was not able to get a date at the end of July, I guess we would just figure out how to make the 9th work. Has anyone else changed their date?

I know a couple of people who had to change the date for unavoidable reasons (one had a business trip, the other surgery scheduled a long time ago), neither in Brazil though. Both ended up waiting 2-3 months for another interview.

Me: Irish/ Swiss citizen, and now naturalised US citizen. Husband: USC; twin babies born Feb 08 in Ireland and a daughter in Feb 2010 in Arkansas who are all joint Irish/ USC. Did DCF (IR1) in 6 weeks via the Dublin, Ireland embassy and now living in Arkansas.

Yea, I heard from other VJ's in Brazil that the change of date of their interviews. adds another 2-3 months to the waiting game.
