I-130 and G-325a questions

A few questions, sorry if these have been asked 1000 times it's hard to filter through old posts. Anyways..

My boyfriend and I (US cit) are currently living together in Costa Rica and will apply for the CR-1 once married. Addresses used here do not have street names nor numbers. Instead it's like "50 meters west of the Burger King, white house on the left with black gate". But evidently every street actually does have a name that we could find on google maps, and then just make up a number that our apartment is. Which address should we put? I don't plan on having anything sent to this address since stuff is always lost en route.

Also, I want all information sent to my mom's house in the USA (because of the crappy mail here). So on the I-130 I put my address as my mom's USA address. But for the G-325a I put my most recent address as my "address" here in Costa Rica. Is this a problem? Should I put a note attached to clarify the discrepancies?

Finally on the I-130, should I put that my boyfriend will be filing for adjustment of status? We are living in Costa Rica and plan to stay until he is approved for his CR-1.

Oh one more question- I'm working in Costa Rica but don't plan on filing taxes in the USA. Should I list that I'm working in Costa Rica if I don't have the tax reports to back it up?

One last question. Oops!

My boyfriend "lived" with me for 6 months in the USA on his tourist visa. He didn't work or anything. Should I put the address where we stayed in the USA as one of his residences? Thanks!

Hi lucybelle,

I don't know how long you've been in costa rica but if more than 6 months then use your foreign address on your I-130. I live outside the US with my husband and filled out the I-130 exactly as you are suggesting. Then I found out afterward that there is a much faster queue for USCs living abroad. We're in our 4th month of waiting while others living abroad are getting initial approval in as little as 10 days! I have the same problem with addresses that don't exist but in reality, they don't send physical documents that you need to reply to. They will send email notifications of approval and you can check your case online. I advise that for faster approval use you foreign address. Do it for me, because I'm really wishing that i had!

Thanks for the reply! So they won't send anything to the address? 99% chance it will be lost. I have a PO Box number where it might be more likely to arrive (95% chance of being lost), but it's not my physical address.

Should I write my "50 meters west of..." address or the street "name" address? If they mail something it's more likely to come to the "50 meters west of..." address as no one here knows street names.

Like I said, I'm still in the waiting game but the only thing that USCIS Wil send is the notice of approval but that will also be sent electronically if you send in G-1145 (I think). From what I understand all NVC communication is electronic. I'm not sure about the communication with the embassy. Others with more experience may be able to help with these specifics.
