Most nursing positions do not need a degree? Maybe for a nursing ASSISTANT. I know several nurses at work who came sponsored by my work and are still there. They flights and hotels and housing all paid for. They have degrees and I am a nurse and I have a degree;where do you get your info? Since the economy soured, foreign nurses are not in demand. However, they still hire therapists and since we never had a sponsored pharmacist, I am not sure on the demand there, so that's why i said as much.

And FYI, about half of our nurses at work obtained foreign nursing degrees and then had to qualify for US requirements on top of it....I don't know of one nurse at work who does not ahve a degree and is licensed to work LOL!!! Okkkkkkkkk

I was thinking the same thing. I have 2 friends that I know of who are

RN's ... they put in At Least 4 years of higher education pursuing

their Degrees

You are confusing has a degree with the job requiring a degree.

OH and to the pharmacist guy who originally posted, yes as a matter of fact we did hire at least one nurse from the Phillipines just AFTER the economy went bad in 2010. I know her personally and she came here as a new graduate who had not even worked in her own country yet no less, new to America first time and we other nurses were a bit miffed at this seemingly expensive scheme to get new nurses when we were struggling for hours at the time! So I am thinking there must be some kind of kick back or financial benefit to companies who do this? Im not sure, but my employer seems to sponsor employees more than any other i have ever seen. Also, another way to get sponsored is to see how you can get a position at the Healthsouth in Saudi Arabia and then once there you can try to get to the US like an occupational therapist I know who did this....her contract is for three years and they do work you hard though and she will go back to Kenya once it's done. The US is not an easy place to work in my opinion. It's a lot of working here and not too much fun until you get rich LOL
