This may be a silly question but I want to make sure I do everything correct when submitting my son's N600 for COC. When writing his name etc on the back of the 2 photos with a pencil, is it okay if I use a normal #2 pencil? I hope so because I did, and I had to press a little hard to get it to write on the photo paper. Is this going to be a problem? Also should I paper clip the photos to the N600 or staple or what do you recommend? Thank you very much.

Never staple a photo.

Paper clip or put it in a ziplock bag and paperclip the bag to the page.

Spent time reading the N-600 instructions, but due to USCIS delays, stepdaughter barely turned 18 and was no longer eligible. For citizenship, that #2 light pencil on the back of the photos is history, want that in ink on the left margin of the photo. Wouldn't be the least bit concerned about that until you bring your child to the interview and even a couple of extra photos depending what they have in mind at the time.

Bells are not ringing for proof of residence, but lately the USCIS has been requesting either a state photo ID or a drivers' license that seems redundant as that is based on your green card. Sure want a copy of your naturalization certificate that also seems weird since they issued it as well as the child's green card. If a woman with with new married name, your marriage certificate and was there additional proof that child is yours?

Getting confused between all the applications we submitted for. Could reread the N-600 instructions, what do they say? And know they will want you and your child at the interview, no civics test for the kid.

Told you at your oath ceremony that your kids under 18 are automatically US citizens, but without proof. But they sure want that proof for the N-600. And seem to have a very short memory of what you went through to get green cards for those kids.
