I-130 AFFIDAVIT

Hi..im 95% complete my I-130 form...the thing is that for the Bonafide marriage requirements i already have my sons birth cert NSO,Pictures of Proof and i do want to add the AFFIDAVIT OF SUPPORT from my father/friends/relatives..the question is that should i notarize them all? or is it ok to just have the letter of proof that they were and are trustful friends of more than a few years along with their info on DOB address and full name, and that they attended the wedding in which they were invited to...i just want to be safe by adding additional requirements so that i dont have to back track on anything i left out... any help is appreciated..!! thanks.. oh and can i use family members as an affidavit...?

When I put together my packet I did have it notarized. Because my SO comes from a "high fraud" country I felt it necessary to have it all official.

I found a link online that was basically fill in format, completed and gave to them to sign. Super easy and very official.

Firstly, the term "Affidavit of Support" is not a correct term to use for the statements that you speak of. Affidavit of Support in terms of immigration refer to the form I-864 which you will submit later down the road.

Secondly, those statements are not a requirement to file a petition. In the instructions, they are listed after the sentence "in addition to required documentation, you can submit one or more of the following types of documentation." Should you wish to include such statements, they need to come from people who have interacted with you both as a couple. Family members can write such statements.

Thirdly, there is no requirement these statements need to be notarized.
