Hey guys, So I passed my interview May 16th and I still have not received my oath ceremony letter, which is okay, i know its not gonna be within 14 days like my IO promised. my concern is that during june and july i will be in China for my brother's wedding and just visit my relatives. if my ceremony got scheduled during that time, i won't be able to go. should that happen, i think i will have to reschedule it. but is rescheduling STRONGLY not recommended? like if you reschedule, is your case gonna practically go to the bottom of everything and never see the sunlight for years? or is it less strict and more like a casual easy process?

will you be able to choose or suggest a prefered time frame for the oath?

when you get your ceremony notice, when is the oath usually scheduled? like a month later?

thanks guys! any relevant input is appreciated! good luck to everybody working on this!

Wife had that same problem after her interview, suddenly gets a notice that her niece is getting married, can we come down? So a choice had to be made, either go to the wedding or get your citizenship without extremely long delays. It was her choice to receive her citizenship first. Then she got her US Passport, we got a nice wedding present, then went down, took the entire family to dinner and had a good time. All is well that ends well.

Its your choice, don't ask any of us what you want to do.

Would consider even my own wedding more important than my brothers, but again the USCIS intervened, said we would have to wait until we got our papers first. Thought I was in Nazi Germany, but we even had to wait for that. So we got our papers first, all is well that ends well.
