Man that was kind of a waste of time calling the customer support number. I talked to an agent, but they weren't very helpful. She just took the receipt number and basically said the application was still "within the normal processing time" for this type of process (I-485). That's really all the information she could give me. When we check online, it says the step it's on is on the Testing and Interview stage.

Again we've not received any RFE's or communications about the case. The lady on the phone also said nothing about RFE's or any issues with the case.

I'm assuming we just go back to the waiting game now. I really hope we get it soon because my wife wants to travel back to Canada for/before Christmas. She hasn't been home in over a year so she wants to go back to visit before she gets a job. A job would help because right now living on my wages alone we are struggling. I know many of you have gone through a lot more difficult situations, but I'm just explaining. I don't know how you all do it. It drives me nuts.

Do we have any options from here? How would we go about getting more information or trying to get the process expedited. As for this infopass, how do we go about it and what exactly is it?

What's stopping her from travelling to Canada and getting a job? Your timeline indicates the EAD/AP combo card has been received.

As for the infopass, it's just an in-person meeting with an IO for information and/or status. You can book an appointment online, or by phone.

Well she did incur an overstay (about 90 days) before filing for her AOS/EAD/AP. From what I've read here it's best to just wait it out and get the GC rather than taking the risk of traveling on AP if you've had such an overstay. Perhaps I'm wrong in this assumption, but I don't want to take any chances. Right now that's what holding us up. No GC and the overstay/AP deal.

I was going to schedule an infopass appt. for Monday but then I realized it's our 1 year anniversary that day. Probably not the best way to spend our first anniversary together.

Overstay of 180 days or more would be a problem. 90 days not so much. Would they issue AP to people who overstayed? I'm curious

Nah, once you have AP/EAD you're home free on the overstay issue. I understand wanting to wait though. My EAD/AP card and GC showed up in my mailbox on the same day :bonk:

Honestly, I can't think of a better way to spend an anniversary together than working on the process that makes you legally able to be with her :) They usually close at about 5pm anyway, so still lots of time to get an anniversary celebration date in that evening :)

I suppose we could just go ahead and go back to Canada and then use the AP to get back. I just get scared taking any kind of chances with this whole thing. We've come so far and it's so close to everything being done, I don't want to have anything go wrong now. We ended up going out for our anniversary yesterday which was very nice. We could have done the infopass and that, but working 3rd shift I'm not usually up before 4pm unfortunately.

Also nice that you already have the EAD. I mean really, the EAD and the AP are the important bits. The GC itself doesn't mean much if you can already work and travel legally.

Any news on June filers who did NOT have an interview and were transferred? I'm wondering where they can possibly be in the process now for us who filed mid June 2012. Thanks

Well I don't fit into your requirements but I will say that our IV notice came exactly around the same time that our local office's processing times stated.

In other news, we have our IV in two days! I'm frantically making copies of all the new docs we're taking in (new passport, bank statements, new benefits from work with wife as beneficiary, etc.). I think the thing that strikes me most is that both of us are totally relaxed about this. We're both in the "we have a legit marriage so all the prep questions are super easy to answer" place. We're just planning to go in, be honest and come out. Seeing as how so many people are nervous, I'm not sure what to think about how we feel. Overconfidence? :P

Also congrats to all those who got their GCs since my last visit. Glad MrsGore did. 3 months is waay too long to have to wait for such a small reason....
