Yay I received notification that my EAD is in production. So it seems 70 days is about right mine took 67 days. Anyone know how quickly you receive the EAD through the mail?

~7-10 days is typical I think based on my post-completion OPT cards arrival times.

I meant i don't remember what it's like to NOT work.

Yurgh it stinks. I've been employed for a year prior to this "enforced vacation" I'm currently enduring before I can take another job. It's been nice in the sense that I get to dote on the wife and do all the organization/cleaning of our place (I moved into her existing home so there's a lot of adjustment. However, it really sucks not to have a place to go for 8 hours a day where you're forced to interact with others. The only constant interaction I have besides my wife is our little cat who admittedly makes a nice friend. :D I'm hoping that the next 30 days bring good news about the EAD and interview. I really want to get back to work.

I got my interview date!!! September 17th it is! :dance:

Adjustment of status from F-1

May 14th, 2012: wedding in Vancouver, WA :)

June 6th, 2012: mailed AOS/EAD/AP

June 8th, 2012: packet delivered

June 11th, 2012: acceptance

June 13th, 2012: received text messages and emails confirming application reception

June 14th, 2012: checks cashed

June 15th, 2012: received hard copies of NOAs (dated June 12th)

July 2nd, 2012: received biometrics appointment letter, scheduled on July 17th

July 17th, 2012: biometrics appointment completed at 10am

August 12th, 2012: interview notice received, scheduled on September 17th

August 15th, 2012: EAD and AP card production (on the 70 day mark!)

August 24th, 2012: EAD card received

September 17th, 2012: AOS interview - Approved!

September 27th, 2012: Green card received

Sorry it took me forever to update you all, but here's how my interview went:

It was a two-hour wait at the Phoenix location but my husband and I didn't mind. We were just happy to be there! The actual interview took only 5 minutes. IO was pleasant and straight to the point. Asked how we met, and we also went through the usual i-485 questions. He didn't say approved/denied, just said to wait for the decision in the mail.

Now I understand why most of the people coming out from the interviews has this blank expression on their faces! I'm not entirely sure, but I'm guessing it's their protocol to not give decisions right then and there, perhaps to avoid confrontation in cases of denial.

The next day, I received an email notification that our i-130 application has been approved! The i-485, on the other hand, just indicated that the decision is in the mail. By this time, we were going crazy!! So we (im)patiently waited and checked our mail everyday.

Today, we finally got the official notification: 10-year green card approved! Hallelujah!! :dance:

EAD received in the mail today.

It's funny because on Fri, 8-10-2012 USCIS reported the EAD was picked up by USPS.

Now the long wait for the GC since our I-485 was transferred to CSC.

Wow that was fast. :thumbs:
