Hi everyone :) Since getting our NOA2, me and my wife have started the process of gathering the necessary docs for the NVC stage of our visa app. I'm going through an immigration law office and their asking for police clearances for all of the places she's lived in since age 16. In addition to living in the Philippines, she lived in Vietnam for almost two years (where we first met) as well as a month in Malaysia and a month in Singapore. Now, I would understand that we need to get a police clearance from Vietnam since she was there for some time, but would we need to get one from Singapore and Malaysia as well as even though she was only there for a month? Also is it necessary to get clearances from all the places she's lived in or is the law office just playing it safe? Any insight would be greatly appreciated, Thanks! :)

If she only 'lived' in Malaysia and Singapore for 1 month then she won't need police clearances from there. Just in case she is asked about it at her interview she might want to make sure that she brings her passport with the entry and exit stamps from each country showing she was only there for 1 month. It probably won't be necessary but it would be good to have if she is asked about it.

What kind of visa was she on for each country? Was she admitted on some sort of work visa? If she has a cancelled work visa that could also serve as proof of residency for less than 6 months.

Again probably not going to be an issue at all but it is good to be prepared. (There have been a few funny requests for police clearances in Manila lately)

Good luck!
