Co-sponsor Tax Question

I'm getting conflicting information so would appreciate help on this matter. I am filing i-130 with a need to use a co-sponsor for affidavit of support.

My question is will the co-sponsor be required to claim both me and my wife on his future tax returns until my wife becomes a citizen?

I've been hearing that he will need to claim +2 (me and wife) and some say the co-sponsor is not legally required/able to claim additional dependents simply because they signed AOS. Any help is appreciated, thanks

No, your co-sponsor will not be required to claim you and your wife as dependents on his tax return. He can only claim you and your wife as dependents if he meets the requirements of the Internal Revenue Code. The fact that he submitted a form with USCIS agreeing to possibly support you is not relevant for tax purposes.
