It is absolutely disgusting the way the right-wing racists refuse to acknowledge the incredible talent and intelligence that Obama has! So they engage in this slimy underhanded slam of pretending that the only reason he became president is due to affirmative action. It must be very painful for them to think that a black man is smarter and more intelligent than they are themselves!

The DWL (disingenuous White Liberal) speaks.

If you really think it has to do with race you are drinking too much of your own racial kool-Aid.

Clinton was hated and hounded 5X what Obama feels.

But then again Clinton was the _First Black President too.. so maybe you are onto something.

I must have hit close to home!

If it is not race than suppose you tell me what you mean by 'affirmative action'! Those were YOUR words! :bonk:

I actually think the 'natural born' part is interesting, as the fourteenth amendment never mentions it, just that any person naturalized or born on US soil is a citizen.

The fact that the constitution never really explains what exactly a 'natural born citizen' is makes it interesting.

But I have a very hard time seeing how exactly natural-born citizenship is different from birthright citizenship. Nowhere has a legal distinction been made between the two from my knowledge.

If there were grounds to hold that a natural-born citizen has to have two US citizen parents as opposed to just one, I'd see the debate a little more relevant.

However, if the fact that he was born on US soil to a US citizen mother would raise question, what then of a person born in the US to a US citizen mother and an unknown biological father?

Either way, this issue is pretty much DOD unless the supreme court somehow ruled otherwise.
