Hi!

I am new on this forum so... Nice to meet y'all :)

I am from Quebec, Canada. A year ago I entered the US with the intention to stay 2 months then go back to Canada. BUT I met the man of my life, we got married and I am now 5 months pregnant (yay!). I just received my approved I-130 and waiting for my adjustment of status...

Since my husband does not fulfill the requirements for affidavit, we will need a co-sponsor. I was wondering if there is any way it can be my parents that are in Canada (and Canadian citizens) or only an American citizen? If it's only an American citizen, can it be ANYONE (i.e an acquaintance of my husband)? Would it look better if it was a family member of my husband or it doesn't matter?

Is the fact that my husband is on SSI a problem ?

I believe that it must be an LPR or citizen of the US, so no your canadian parents cannot sponsor you.

SSi is not a problem

Household would be 2 until baby is born.. Then it would be 3 :) Congrats on the new little one coming soon!

04/24/2012: Certified mail delivery confirmation

04/27/2012: Check cashed

04/27/2012: E-mail notification of receipt of petition

04/29/2012: NOA1 received!

08/07/2012: Received e-mail notification of RFE

09/07/2012: Finally able to send back info for RFE

09/17/2012: NOA2 APPROVED!!!

The federal government does not recognize unborn babies as people, so until the baby is born your household will be 2, if your interview is after the birth, be expected to bring an updated I864
