I was wondering if someone has exprience bringing stepchildren to the US. It sounds too simple to be true. everything i read says all I need is form I-130 and $420 fee, Birth cert. for me and kids, marriage cert., and proof of no prior marriages. this just sounds too simple for USCIS am I missing something?

Well, they have to meet the age requirements. And the other parent will have to give permission to immigrate. But otherwise, yes.

Honestly, I'm not sure, but unless the immigrant has sole legal and physical custody of the child, she will have to provide evidence that she is allowed to immigrate with the child.

She has had sole physical custody but nothing was ever done legally. She figured since they were never married she didnt need anything done legally. maybe when the kids have their interview at the embassy we will need a letter from the biological father but i havent found anything requesting it at this point. Im not even sure what the biological father should say in the letter.

I just filed two seperate I-130 from my Step Children, It was NOA 1 just today, took less than 5 days from postoffice to NOA1 notice of acceptance. It went to the Vermount center, so will see, yes seems simple. Just the 420 each I-130 you have to pay. TYhey are treated as individual applicants.
