Expedite interview date?

4 posts in this topic

Recommended Posts

My cases (3) have all completed at the NVC but I am afraid that the interview will be scheduled in late July at the earliest. I have petitions for my wife and two kids (5 and 10 years old) Can I expedite my cases and hope to get an earlier interview date based on getting the kids enrolled in school before the start of the school year?

You can just ask to expedite based in one of the USCIS criteria such as

Severe financial loss to company or individual

Extreme emergent situation

Humanitarian situation

Nonprofit status of requesting organization in furtherance of the cultural and social interests of the United States

Department of Defense or National Interest Situation (Note: Request must come from official United States Government entity and state that delay will be detrimental to our Government)

and I don't think your reason is called "extreme emergency situation".

Good luck

Compelling interest of USCIS

I'm not sure how it works for the consulates in Brazil but I suggest waiting until you get your interview date and then try to reschedule it.
