hi all :)

my first E1 visa (good for five years) is about to expire in a few months and the company that is sponsoring me already told me they are not going to renew it. i have already started looking for jobs in my home country but i figured it can't hurt to check if there are other options to continue working in the US. if it helps: i am not married, no kids and plan on keeping it that way ;)

does anybody know what options i have in this case? thanks in advance and have a good weekend! :)

There will not be many on this Board who are familiar with an E1.

Essentially you have the same opportunities as you had previously with the added benefit that some may be more practical because of the contacts you have made.

Whether work or personal.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

E1 is a non-immigrant visa; it does not allow you to use it to stay in the U.S. permanently. You will have to find another way if you want to continue living and working in the U.S.

You could start here and see if you might qualify for another employment-based visa, but you'll essentially be starting out in the same position that any immigrant is in in terms of qualifying for a visa: http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/menuitem.eb1d4c2a3e5b9ac89243c6a7543f6d1a/?vgnextoid=a39e901bf9873210VgnVCM100000082ca60aRCRD&vgnextchannel=a39e901bf9873210VgnVCM100000082ca60aRCRD
