NBI Hit

Hello all.

Well my Fiancé and I started the journey of bringing her home (USA) so we can get married and wouldn’t you know it right out of the gate we ran into a problem. My Fiancé went to get her NBI clearance yesterday and got a “hit”. Now she got her police clearance completed and no issues came up so she was surprised this hit came back. She was told to come back in 10 days. Now we are trying to be positive but I am concerned. About ten years ago she was involved in an issue where she was accused / a misunderstanding took place of stealing some Avon stuff but she said she wasn’t arrested or went to court, she just lost the job. I’m not sure what my question is because I know we have to wait, but I guess I’m looking for reassurance and or looking for support to people who may have had to deal with a similar issue. Thanks

do not worry! usually, HIT means somebody has the same name as you, or maybe some criminal looks like you.

Haven't had to deal with it thus far. However, I don't see a "hit" being anything to be concerned about if her record is clean. A hit could be for anything. That would only mean digging a little deeper in the investigation if it is anything like a FBI check. It is probably something you are just going to have to patiently wait and see what comes up. Was the police clearance for another country she was in? If that is the case, it would only represent her stay in that country. It would have no relevance on what the NBI found. Someone might be able to share a similar experience. This thread would receive more responses in the Regional threads as the NBI is Philippines specific.

My fiancee had a hit too. Someone else that shared her name committed a felony. Don't worry all will be clear in a few days :)

jsut wait and be patient. There may be a report on the Avon issue, but never filed charges... so doubtful if there is an issue there. like other people are saying, it is more likely a similar name or face. It could be the Avon issue, but that was 10 years back. give it time, sometimes it is better to "hit" issues in the beginning, then to have them come up during Embassy interview time. Just sit back and prepare. Get all your docs, copies, etc ready for the embassy while waiting. Spend time getting to know each other better....
