Here is M̶̲̥̅♈ story.M̶̲̥̅♈ k1 was denied last year cos the CO think our engagement party looks like marriage,so he said we should filled for spouse visa.we already have a child.we got married and filed for spouse visa sinces sept lastyear.our case was i̶̲̥̅̊n̶̲̥̅̊ california,after six month,its was transferred to vermont.we made service request all d response is still WAIT.we hubby already inform his congressman,but the congressman said he has not heard for dem that we have to wait for 2weeks.I called today and the operator told ♍ƺ that we have to wait for another 6months,and if by then we don't hear anything then we called back.he said our case is still under review.but he advice,if we have a gud reason,we can expedite.I don't no what to do.I reside i̶̲̥̅̊n̶̲̥̅̊ nigeria,and M̶̲̥̅♈ son already have his america passport through CRBA.pls what can I do to speed up thing.pls,fellow VJ member,help a sister .

Nothing you can do to speed it up. You just have to wait.

Wow I'm sorry for that situation. Unfortunately there's not much one can do to speed things up, apart from contacting senators and members of Congress.

A lot of people try to hide their marriage in the (false) belief that K-1 is much quicker and easier than CR-1/IR-1. This is especially common in parts of Africa and the consulates know this and don't take it lightly. Fraud affects the innocent, and it sucks.
