Hi All,

So I'm AOS'ing from a tourist VWP.

I received my EAD about 3 weeks ago on the bottom of my EAD it clearly says: "Not valid for reentry to US"

Online it says I have been aproved for AP,

On April 2, 2012, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I131 APPLICATION FOR USCIS TRAVEL DOCUMENT. Please follow any instructions on the notice. If you move before you receive the notice, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283.

I have not recevied this mailing or an AP card?

Wondered if anyone had any thoughts RE this situation before I call uscis tomorrow.

Also got my interview on Tuesday.

08 Feb 2012, Day 0 Sent I-130, I-485, I-765, I-131 and G-1145

09 Feb 2012, Day 1 Package received at Chicago Lockbox

14 Feb 2012, Day 6 Email of acceptance, application being sent to NBC

15 Feb 2012, Day 7 $1070 check cashed.

16 Feb 2012, Day 8 $420 cheque cashed

27 Feb 2012, Day 19 Bio appointment letter received

02 Mar 2012, Day 22 RFE received

03 Mar 2012, Day 23 RFE returned with info

07 Mar 2012, Day 27 Acknowledgement of RFE returned - now waiting for their response

20 Mar 2012, Day 40 Did Biometrics - previously rejected for walk in bio @ Elizabeth, NJ and Manhattan

30 Mar 2012, Day 50 online status changed to inform me of interview on Mayis day 49

02 Apr 2012, Day 53 EAD & AP in production

If your interview is on Tuesday, I would just wait for the interview and hope you are told that AOS is approved and the GC will arrive in a few days. Once you have the GC no need for AP or EAD and calling the USCIS is a waste of time and causes people's blood pressure to go up  . So I would avoid the hassle and go to the interview and spring the AP approveal on the with the EAD card and see what happens

Good luck on your interview,

Dave

Yeah, you'd hardly even get a change to use your EAD (or AP for that matter). Print the AP approval out and take it with you to the interview. I'm sure they can answer that one better than us. Did you overstay your visa? Some get their EAD/combo card taken at the interview as it's no longer valid when the AOS is approved.

A side note - those combo cards are neat but have only given me a hard time so far. I had my license renewed and therefore couldn't use it as ID until it was in my mailbox. I went to cash my pay check at a bank and they wouldn't accept the combocard at legal ID. Went to another bank, same issue. Went to my own bank equipped with passport, marriage license, EAD and whatnot and the manager came out and said, "luna, you don't need all that junk here" after the teller wouldn't accept the combocard. :D
