Hi,

I was wondering if anyone else is having problems with this.

I received my NOA2 on April 4th, the next week I called the NVC and they let know that the petition has been forwarded to Montreal. At this point I waited a few days and called the DOS who have been giving me different answers everytime i call. The first person told me it was logged, the next person told me it was still in transit, the person after her told me that it was forwarded on April 17th but hasn't arrived yet.

I'm ready to send packet 3 in, just don't want to do so prematurely.

Has anyone had any luck getting answers from the Montreal Consulate themselves about Cases?

You don't call / email Montreal about this. You have to call DOS and ask them if the case has been logged and P3 has been sent. If yes to both then you can send your P3 out. If not yes to both then you have to wait till yes to both.

You don't have to physically receive Packet 3 in the mail before you send it out. Call DOS and ask if Packet 3's been logged. If yes then go ahead and send it in. "In Transit" probably means it's going to get sent out or it's in the mail so it's probably time you sent Packet 3 in.

It's not uncommon for Montreal VJers to never receive Packet 3 or Packet 4 from Montreal, or to receive them very late. For whatever reason, Montreal falls off the ball sometimes.

Yes, but i have received 10 different answers.

Ya one operator at DOS tells me its logged and the next one tells me its just the email confirmation thats been logged.

I'll try again tomorrow and try and get a more accurate response.

If someone has told you at some point that Packet 3's been logged I'd go on ahead. DOS operators are not consistent. I called about my packet 4 three time in an hour, first two answers were ambiguous and the last answers said it was logged so I went ahead and booked my interview. Didn't have any problems.

I got my letter saying the petition had been sent to Montreal with a date of 3/22. After 3 weeks of nothing I started calling. They didn't mail Packet 3 until 4/19 according to the DOS. My fiance still hasn't received it. Hurry up and wait seems to abound in this whole process.
