I-134, Q-9 Confusion

Hi

Currently I am in process of providing Sponsor (Affidavit of Support) to one my family friends in India who are applying for Tourist Visa (B2) to US. While filing I-134 for them at Question 9 in forms ask for

” If I ever submitted Affidavit of Support for any person? “

Now the Confusion part…

Well I did submit Affidavit of Support for my Wife when she immigrated to US and before that for another friend of mine who was also immigrating to US at that time on Family Based Immigration, now that friend is US Citizen as well, obviously my wife lives with me so I will mention her name in Question 8 as dependent.

But what should I write in Question 9

Should I write NONE (as the Affidavits I submitted earlier were I-864 for Immigrant Visa application and not I-134 for Non-Immigrant Visa Application?)

Or Should I write both my wife and friends name even though I will be mentioning my wife as dependent while answering Question 9 ?

Or Should I write only my Friend’s name (as my wife’s name is already mentioned as dependent in Question 8)

I am really confused about this and I would really appricate if anyone here with similar experience or knowledge can throw some light on it to make it clear.

Thanks

I don't think you need I-134 for B2 Tourist Visa, neither it will help. The applicant for B2 Visa is required to qualify on their own.

You would need to answer YES if you needed to provide an I-134. You don't. You do not need one for a tourist visa and informing them that the applicant has someone that will to support them in the US, when what they NEED to prove is that they will return to India is not going to be in their favor at the consulate in India.

For future reference, you DID provide affidavits for people in the past. Thse affidavots are no longer in effect because they have become citizens. It does not change that you DID do them and the question asks "Have you ever..."
