I am finally getting around to applying for naturalization on the basis of having lived in the US continuously as a permanent resident for five years.

(Did not leave the country for more than 6 months, only small 2-3 week trips)

I was looking through the application form, it seems like the needed evidence is pretty straight forward:

- Payment/cheque

- Application

- Photocopy of PR card

- 2 identical colour photos

- Form G-1145 e-notification

Can the community confirm this is correct? Should I send along other information (like copies of my driver's license, my last three years' tax returns) or should it be okay the way it is? I don't want to be NTE'd but I also would prefer not to confuse the immigration official as well.

For the interview, I am planning to bring

- Your evidence of being a lawful permanent resident for 5 years is your Green Card.

- Your evidence that you haven't been outside the U.S. for too long is your passport.

- Your evidence that you have filed your income taxes is your past 3 years' worth of tax transcripts.

- Additional Photos

Thanks

When I applied for my N-400, I also included: IRS tax return transcripts for the past 3 years, copies of apartment lease, and checking and savings account.

If the application is based on marriage to US citizen for the last three years, it would be a good idea to include documents that refer to both of you.

If your wife was born in the US , send photocopy of her birth certificate, or a photocopy of all her passport pages.

If she was naturalized, a photocopy of her certificate would do.

IRS is a good start if you both filed jointly, bank accounts, leases, insurance policies, divorce decrees for you or your spouse for any prior marriges.

In my package I am willing to include all the above + a photocopy of my passport and my driver license as well.

It is advisable to take originals of all of this and more(if you decided to) to the interview, just in case.

You can read the N-400 Instructions, it states all required documents that fits almost every different situation.

Good luck
