VFS - India - Documents to Submit including Medical

Few questions regarding VFS:

1. I am getting conflicting answers regarding whether to submit or not to submit Medical Report to VFS or should I just submit to the US Consulate in Mumbai on the interview day.

2. Since we have already submitted all the originals to NVC, can we just submit photocopy of the documents to VFS?

3. Marriage Certificate is the only certified copy that we submitted to NVC (everything else we submitted originals), thinking that we will present the original Marriage Cert. to the consulate on the day of the interview. Do we need to submit the original marriage certificate to VFS or can we submit a photocopy of the original?

you can submit medical to VFS or take it with you in person during interview, I had submitted mine ahead of time to VFS thus cutting time during interview.

If you have submitted all the original documents than you can submit and take photo copies with you to VFS and during interview, all of your orginals would be returned back to you during interview.

Also you should have a sheet with your interview letter which indicates all the documents the NVC has received and if it was original or copy.

You can take the original marriage certificate with you to consulate during time of interview that is not a problem.

Good Luck!

When I called up VFS, I was specifically told that the medical report needs to be submitted to VFS.

The medical report gets submitted to VFS and if the beneficiary had an Xray done, they hand carry the Xray to the interview. VFS won't take the Xray.

Don't forget the visa fees have changed - the cost is lower now.

Good Luck!
