The barcode sheet is required, but the cover letter is not. Cover letter can be helpful. Just address to NVC and write down what documents you are sending with the cover letter.

I-130 Timeline with USCIS:

It took 92 days for I-130 to get approved from the filing date

NVC Process of I-130:

It took 78 days to complete the NVC process

Interview Process at The U.S. Embassy

Interview took 223 days from the I-130 filing date. Immigrant Visa was issued right after the interview

i couldn't find a sample one for the i-864 either so i just modified it.

i haven't sent my package out yet. i'm still waiting for the nvc to generate it. seems an average wait of 12 days from day of AOS fee bill acceptance.

since we're on similar stages, i would like to ask you some questions

- are you going to use the i-864ez? if so will you just send last year's tax return info or the last 3 years? i was going to send the last 3 years but can't find the W2 for 2004

- providing the 1040 is enough right? coz i can't find my W2 for 2004 as mentioned above. or should i just send 2005 since i have both 1040 and W2

thanks for the reply. as for what i'll be doing, i'm using I-864EZ. I am only sending year 2005 tax info. I'm using the transcript i got from the irs and i am not sending a w-2. i have the transcript, tax release authorization, employment letter and abt 3 months of pay stubs that i'm sending. hope we won't get rfe'd! also, i did not send mine yet, although when i called nvc the operator said my package will be sent this week by friday. i didn't know if that meant it was already generated or not and the operator couldn't say anything other than it will be mailed by friday. so i'm going 2 send my package in 2morrow just to b safe. best of luck to you guys!

yeah, 1040 and w-2 is fine also, either way is acceptable. i think in days gone by the 1040 w/ w-2 was the preferred way, but now transcript or 1040 w/ w-2 is fine

thanks, wifey called me on the way to work and said she called the NVC and found out that the I-864 has been generated. too bad i'd already left the house or i would've stopped by the post office and mailed it. you should check yours too. unfortunately, the automated message won't say that the I-864 has been generated. but it's a good way to start friday the 13th :star:
