Today my fiancee' paid the interview fees at BPI. We went online to set appointment 4 hours after payment just like the embassy site says. We keep getting an error though.

"No valid record can be found for the entered receipt number. Please validate that your receipt number is correct and that you have paid the correct amount for the visa which you are applying for"

Can anyone tell me, do we have to wait longer than the time given? Is this a common problem? How do we get it resolved?

You wait for a few more hours or next day. Then try setting the appointment online again. You can also call US Embassy Manila and set the Appointment via phone.

To schedule a visa appointment for IV or K petitions, please contact the Embassy’s Visa Information and Appointment Service at (632) 982-5555 or (632) 902-8930.

Did you receive the NOA2 yet? And if you did receive the email, what was the date? Coz sometimes it will take at least a week before the papers are received by the embassy from NVC.Take note also that if your papers are not yet received by the embassy, hence not yet in their system, it will also say error when scheduling. But you can try everyday to schedule though until your schedule pushes through which basically means that your papers are already on the embassy's system when that happens.

I received the NOA2 on April 3rd in mail hard copy on April 7th and NVC gave me the MNL # on April 13th

Also try calling the BPI bank where the application fee was paid. Ask if they sent your BPI payment confirmation to USEM. If they did, ask for time and date. Then call USEM again to see if they received the confirmation. Let them know the BPI branch location, BPI receipt, Time and date BPI sent the confirmation to them (USEM).

If they still do not have the confirmation on file. Then it is still waiting to be processed at the embassy. Keep trying. It will go through soon.

Again. The other alternative is to schedule via phone.

Tried again this morning ...... still no luck... she will be calling the bank this morning and she is leaving for Manila to visit her sister till the interview. So she will call the embassy once she reaches Manila. Hopefully I will have luck and the appointment will be set before her plane touches down.

We waited until the following day, a full 24 hours after paying. Scheduling online was nice as you can see a calendar with all the available times/dates. I

And the XX was necessary to get the passport number accepted for the receipt number. Have you tried without the XX, just saying, maybe try a couple different ways

I have tried both ways :) .... it hasn't been a full day yet but I am trying again and again every chance I get. I agree doing it online is always better. You have all the options available. On the phone you have no way of looking at everything. It will be 24hrs in 2 more hours :)so I'll give it another attempt then. Thank you for telling me of your experience.

Well I emailed the embassy from the schedule website.... as of the first email response I didn't really receive much help. They told me to use the passport number *hehhehehe* already doing that. They were able to make a name correction though and add the middle name on the first name line. As of now I'm still getting the same result though ... won't let me set the appointment because No valid record can be found for the entered receipt number .... So I emailed them again from the site with a pdf of my error... Hopefully I will have it resolved before Love lands in Manila today.
