So I just found some reviews for the embassy in San Salvador..

Do I need to be present for the interview? My wife is Salvadorean, but I'm under the impression that I have to go now. I also read that one interview is to hand in the packets that they send my wife, and then another is set up for the oral interview about our relationship. Is this correct? Or do they do this all at once?? I have heard this embassy is really slow and has a low rating from VJ members who have gone through SS embassy....please advise!

More than likely no. Unless they specifically call you in for an interview which rarely happens. I went with my husband but had to wait outside.

My wife had her interview today, I wasn't present, and I didn't have to be. I did CR-1, and she only had this one interview, she was approved on the spot and now has to wait for the VISA to be delivered.

I sent in my Packet IV in December, and we got our interview date by email in Feb. (two months later), so I wouldn't say it was a slow response time...

good luck with your process, let me know if you have any questions, I just went through this whole process so I can give you first hand knowledge of what I went through...

Thanks man! I actually just called the NVC and they told me that our AOS and IV packet have been approved!! And we are just waiting to be scheduled for the interview. I wonder how long that's going to take...I'm very surprised at how quick the response was for the DS-230/AOS packet. It has been really quick!

Congrats to you and your wife. May I ask, how much did you spend on the medical examination for your wife?

Finally we all three together. We are happy :)
