Anne wants to be with me as soon as possible. I am worried of her traveling alone because I work for a major airline and she will be pass traveling. Is a one hour and 20 minute connection enough time to connect to HNL to clear immigration in Guam? If she got stuck till next day is there a reasonable hotel nearby airport? Will they allow her to stay in airport? Anyone with experience of length of time spent at immigration and ease in Guam?

Since she's coming into O'Hare why are you having her hop through 2 other US airports?

MNL - Soul (Korea) or MNL - Hong Kong are pretty easy connections with good food courts and internet but best of all they put her POE at O'Hare. Fewer connections also means less time in transit and less chance of something getting delayed or going wrong on the ground.

Thank you but I am aware of easier routes. The problem is I would have to buy a ticket to Hong Kong or Narita. There is issues with connection times. With those costs of flights I can still get a seat for discounted rates on United all the way to Chicago. On my benefits, she is flying free

If you're worried about her traveling alone, a POE coupled with a connection is a pain unto itself, so you want to avoid 2 connections if possible. That's just more opportunity for things to go wrong. I agree with Bob about Korea or HK. I personally would take a MNL-ICN (Incheon, Korea) connection any day over just about any other place. There are plenty of shops for her to roam around and plenty of choices regarding food to eat, certainly enough to keep her busy and endure a connection with ease.

Maybe someone with Guam experience will chime in.

Then disregard my post - as I was in the process of posting at the same time as you, note the time stamp.

Every time we have been through Guam there was no problem with a delay in Immigration. Continental/United knows about any immigration delays and can hold the plane but I have never been on a flight where they had to do that. Guam is quick and easy with a K-1. My wife and step-daughter spent less than 20 minutes going through immigration in Guam. You will go through customs in Honolulu, not Guam. The last time we went through was July 2010.

My wife Aug2009 traveled through Guam and then onto HNL via Continental Air...

Her immigration paperwork was taken in HNL,,, Not Guam.

Regards,

dc

They screwed up then because Guam was the first U.S. POE. I know because my fiancee ackin 2010 went through Guam with me and they processed her in there and took her sealed packet.

During my trip back to the US last December, I was not very impressed with the people in Guam. I had 2 hours layover and and it took me a good 1.3 hrs to get to my next terminal where I am departing for Hawaii that includes going through immigration and going to the terminal.

When the plane from Manila gets to Guam, all connecting passengers will be going out of the secured area from immigration and must re-enter to the secured area and go through Immigration again.

I guess coming back to the US is a lot more stricter.

Like I said, she better have some churning feet and light hand carry bag so she can haul them easily from immigration to immigration.
