Confusing Visa Payment Instructions on Embassy Website

Hi,

I found the instruction on the Canberra Embassy website for paying for the K1 Visa interview at AusPost a little confusing. I decided to pay at the post office rather than pay with my cc online. I eventually printed out a 'U.S. Visa Application Fee Deposit Slip', which I took to the P.O. The lady behind the counter recognised this form, copied the number and gave me the receipt for $350. So all is well. Has anyone else encountered difficulties with the instructions?

Cheers.

did you pay $350 or $240? There's a decrease in fees as of April 13 2012, did you see?I will pay at Aus Post too, with my mother's CC i think.

Looking at the deposit slip, why is the name "CITI NA LONDON MRV FEE COLLECT"???

The deposit slip pdf URL http://www.ustraveldocs.com/au/Fee240.pdf'>http://www.ustraveldocs.com/au/Fee240.pdf

and after the payment did you return to that website to do anything like they said in instruction #4?

4. Once you have completed payment, you need to return to http://www.ustraveldocs.com

You will need to quote the 13 digit unique sequence number as displayed on your receipt.

Yeah, that had me confused. Also, the printed deposit slip didn't have "K1" on it. It also states that I need to schedule my "appointment". I already have my interview appointment date. Why do I need to enter the "Unique Sequence Number" back into the website? Maybe this applies to different visa types? I don't know?

Cheers.

I may have ripped myself off. It appears that if I had waited one day the fee would have been $240. Oops!

Hahaha, just jumping in - thanks for the very OZ humour that will (soon....) be missed. I'm still laughing :-)
