Question for anyone. I keep reading the I need to send in my wifes police clearances in to the NVC for processing, but I am also reading and told by people here in Japan that I need to hand carry the police clearances to the Embassy. I was instructed that the Consuler needs to be the one to open it.

So do I send it in or bring it the day of the interview?

Thanks!

The NVC will definitely want the original certificate. Unlikely they will complete your case without it. Order 2, send 1 and keep one for interview if you are worried about this. That's what I would do anyway.

The Japanese police certificate will be sealed - if you break that seal, the Tokyo Embassy will definitely reject that certificate.

What you're reading is correct - that information can be found in the link I provided to you a few days ago.

"Retreat hell! We just got here!"
