This site has been really helpful,i thank y'all for your responses so far.I have a question,The Catholic Charities helped me file for VAWA since june 2011,got 2 prima facie's,but on the USCIS site,no touches or anything.I suggested to the Lady handling my case with Catholic charities,if she could write a letter to USCIS to ask about my case, she said it is not necessary. Will it be wise if i write a personal letter to the immigration asking about my case without the knowledge of Catholic charities? :crying:

USCIS Case Status often times shows no updates even after approval and card issuance.

From reading other threads on VJ, 9 months isn't anything to worry about on a VAWA case.

Don't worry! I'm waiting almost a year. It is slow in VAWA unit because of VAWA reauthorization. As soon that is done it will be faster!

Good luck and God Bless! :D

I got an approval almost a year after I applied. Took them several weeks after approval letter sent for then to update the site.

Like Macbook said its due to VAWA pending reautization (money for staff). I would send a letter because it forces someone to manually pull your case and work harder and not look favorably on your case.

If we want to send a letter to Vermont if I have a lawyer can I still do that? Or they will not recognize it? I feel like my lawyer is not doing anything to help so I would like to send a letter. Please let me know if I can.

Many thanks,

M.
