Hello everyone,

sorry to ask, but what is VFS?

I did went through couple of short cuts like James's short cut and did read about the procedure but nothing was mentioned about VFS?

Can anyone explain me how does VFS works? I am thinking my case would be forwarded to Mumbai embassy.

For Mumbai embassy interviews, Medical examination has to be taken in Mumbai itself or it could be taken at some other place. My spouse leaves in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, so would she need to go to Mumbai for Medical examination?

Do we schedule Medical examination by ourself or embassy does that?

When and where we would need to submit the results of the Medical examination?

Thanks in advance for your help.

VFS Global is a trusted partner to the U.S. diplomatic mission in India and manages the administrative function of the visa application process.

She can get her medicals done at Mumbai, Surat, Ahmedabad, Kolkata, or Chennai, whichever is closer. Check the link to see the list of doctors/hospitals authorized to do the medicals. http://mumbai.usconsulate.gov/medical_examination2.html

We need to schedule it ourselves. You'll need to carry your interview letter with you for the medicals. For more info, look up the mumbai consulate's website.

When and where we would need to submit the results of the Medical examination?

The results will be handed over to you in a sealed envelope, which you will carry with you to the consulate at the time of the interview and hand it over.

Thanks in advance for your help.

does that mean interview at mumbai embasay is called interview at VFS?

No, interview will be at the consulate itself. VFS is where you'll submit all your documents and pay the courier charges, etc.

When you say submit the courier charges, I agree to it, is there any other document that my wife would have to submit?

in 3032 form I will be handling submission of all the documents like ds 230 to NVC, so would there by any other document needed to submit to VFS?

Do we need to make an appointment to VFS or its just walkin?
