Hello. I am new to this forum, so I was not sure where I should start. Basically I am a us citizen and I applied for my parents under ir5. They were interviewed on March 20, 2012 in New Delhi. Parents state the interview went perfectly fine. All there paper work were good, they do not need anything from them. At the end of the interview they said visa is approved, but my father had to go under ap for 10days. They handed my father a white paper saying "Please bear with us while your case is going under mandatory AP. We have retained your passports to quickly process your visa". Also on the white piece of paper it does not say 221g, just states under AP. The lady at the interview told my parents everything is ok, but you have to wait 10 days. It has been 10 days and I called DOS and it is still under AP. They lady at DOS also mentioned that my mother is ok, but has to wait for my father to get cleared. I asked what kind of ap he is under, because no fingerprints were taken at the interview. What else could it be. Dos lady also told me that the file is still with consulate, so that means it has not been sent back to nvc, or uscis, and she cannot give me anymore information, because thats all it states. I have also asked my senator to help, so hopefully the will inquire about the case too. I have been reading alot of the forums, so i am really confused on how long it may really take. I understand it all depends on the cases. I am very nervous, and I know all I can do is wait and watch. But hopefully I can get some advice from people who have been in the same position as me. I hope everything works out, not only for me and my family, but eveyrone else who is under AP. I know it is very hard, when do dont know a time frame. I have been waiting for so long to have them here. But IF anyone has been in the same situation, please reply. Your help will greatly be apperciated. Thank you very much.

Don't worry they will be fine. Your father is under Mandatory administrative process. I think it will be quick since they are your parents. Good Luck
