AOS - Who knows what's currently required

Does anyone know exactly what's required now, today, 10/7/06, to file a K-1 AOS?

The official USICS page with the AOS type info on it is http://www.uscis.gov/graphics/formsfee/for...-485.htm#filing

This site was last modified: Last Modified 09/29/2006 so the update is very current.

The VisaJourney info does not seem to reflect the current process, for example the on-line filing of I-765 and I-131. [Has anyone had experience with doing the on-line at the same time as filing the I-485?]

There's also a very confusing statement on this USCIS I-485 page that says:

"A. Location of filing and scheduling of appointment to file Form I-485 in person.

If you are filing the Form I-485 based on the criteria specified above, you must file in person at the office that corresponds to your jurisdiction. To file in person, you must obtain an appointment through InfoPass, an online appointment request system, which can be found at http://infopass.uscis.gov/. Once you have selected a date and time for the appointment, you should print the appointment notice, which shows the time, date and location of the appointment, and present it when appearing to file your Form I-485 in person."

Thanks to anyone who knows precisely what has to be done.

I think what it's saying (when reading the entire page and not just your snippet) is that anyone living in the jurisdiction of the local offices listed above that statement (Dallas, El Paso, Oklahoma City) have to actually go to the district office and do it (after making an InfoPass appt.) I assume it has to do with the new DORA thing they're testing out. If you don't live near any of those district offices, looking further down, you still have to send all your stuff to the Chicago Lockbox.

Someone else may want to confirm I read that correctly.

Thanks, Chris.

I'm still wondering if anyone's used the info pass for EAD and AP.

Even though what you interpret is what I thought, too, USCIS text lacks clear paragraph markings for sections, subsections, and makes me wonder what they're really saying.

Looking further through all the instructions, they repeat the same list of states several times without any apparent reason to do so. Isn't once enough? That leads me to believe they have not stated what they expect clearly and we really do not know what they expect.

Since the page was just update and they didn't really mark the changes, all it seems we can do is assume what they want.
