Getting a TOURIST visa while waiting on our K1

Hello everyone,

I am from Albania and my fiance is the american citizen and we have applied for a K1 on December. i have been to the states 3 other times on a J1 visa, just for the summer and on my last trip to SD this is where we met. i came home and applied for a K1, it was really taking a long time so I decided to go for a visit on March, with my previous experience in the states, being 3 times already and having always been correct we really thought i would get the visa for a 2 month visit, but unfortunately it didnt happen so... I just wanted to share my experience w you so here it is...The consular calls my name and asks me about my experience on a J1 work and travel, i reply. then he says why would you like to go there and then i reply for a brief visit to my fiance, and then is this someone you met while you were there? i said yes, and then he looked at me and told me hes sorry but i do not qualify for a visitor visa BUT go home and wait on your K1 he said, i was so heartbroken and before i left he said COngratulations and i smiled and i said thanks. So what ive realised is that they dont really issue visas while you have a pending application, because even another guy had the same situation or kinda the same, he had his wife and kids in the states for 9 YEARS now, and hes waiting for his spouse visa and they denied him too...It's fine for us, cause the NOA 2 wont take long but it still hurts to be DENIED!!! oh well, we will just live with it! good luck to all of you!

Thank you for sharing your experience! I was thinking about it too, but.. Obviously, there is no escape of the wait.
