I-131 is not a "must" but if she wants to travel while the GC is pending, then you will need it. We need more information about her status to let you know if it is safe to use, but just know that once you file the AOS she cannot leave the country, or her AOS will be considered abandoned.

For your other question, you can put your local office or the Chicago lockbox. No one knows the right answer and both ways have been accepted. It seems like an anachronistic question to me.

She is on a student VISA, she came last years, her VISA expires in 2014. We planned on visiting her parent in December, but that is if we get the GC, which i guess is hardly possible (could be wrong) since we planning to send our file this week or next latest. But that's what we want, otherwise, then if we don't have the GC by then, we might still visit her parents early next year.

Another urgent question, based of other member's cover letters, i realized they filed the form G325a, can u explain why that is please? and who fills this form(s), Beneficiary or Petitioner?

thanks for your time & patience in answering my questions

Okay, if you have no travel plans until December you can forgo the I-131. It is free though, so no loss if you want to apply just in case your application takes an exceptionally long time. She has no overstay so no issues using it.

G-325A is required (1 for USC and 2 for immigrant). Have you looked at the VJ guide as well as the I-130 instructions? It is there.

Yeah just read the guide thanks. But another issue, according to other's cover letter, they included passport photo-size (5 for the beneficiary, n 1 for the USC) But on the guide show that we need (2 for the beneficiary & 1 for the USC instead)?

You should read what the form instructions say go with each form you are submitting and treat them as stand-alone applications that happen to be traveling in the same outer envelope to USCIS. Organize them as separate applications with required evidence. Use a big clip to hold the separate applications. They will split up and be processed by different people so sometimes evidence is duplicated.

Photo requirements of various applications:

I-130 (petition): 1 photo petitioner, 1 photo beneficiary

I-485 (greencard): 2 photos beneficiary

I-765 (work): 2 photos beneficiary [optional application but free to file]

I-131 (travel): 2 photos beneficiary [optional application but free to file]

They won't reject you I've heard, if you don't get all those photos submitted because they certainly don't use all of them. But if you follow the separate instructions for each form, that's what is asked for along with some other duplications. There is no guide or forum that substitutes for actually reading the instructions for each form you fill out.

Yes. Proof of current employment is required for the I-864 (unless qualifying on assets or other means) and will need to be shown at interview.
