What's the deadline for sending in I-864 and DS-230

So far my AOS fee status is paid. But I am waiting for supporting documents from my joint sponsor and probably won't get them until sometime around the next two weeks.

I haven't received my IV bill but I can't pay it until April 13th when I get paid. I haven't ordered my long form birth certificate, police record or court records yet. I don't even know how long that will take to arrive once I order them. I'm guessing I won't be able to mail in the IV package until the end of April beginning of May? Is this too late?

The deadline is 12 months. If the NVC does not hear from you for a period of 12 months after your casefile has been opened, they will administratively close your case and you will have to start from square one (i.e. send new I-130 package to USCIS).

If NVC does not hear back from you after both your DS-230/AOS fee bills have been paid, they will auto-generate an RFE (Request for Evidence) letter and send it to you, requesting the AOS/DS-230. At least, that's what happened with my case.

Even though the deadline is 12 months, I suggest you still inform NVC that it will take you a few months to compile the necessary documents to be on the safe side. You never know what they will do if they don't hear from you for months.
