Hi again, everyone.

Now that my fiance and I have received our NOA2, I'm thinking ahead to our requirements for the Interview. It mentions requiring relationship evidence, though my fiance and I already added quite a bit to our original petition filing. Would the information contained in that packet (over a dozen photos of us, plane tickets/memorabilia, passports with stamps, a list of chat logs over the years (time/filesize)) be alright with the addition of the following?

- List of all skype calls over the last few years (we don't skype daily, but still have accumulated a decent amount).

- List of more recent IM conversation times.

- Some of our email correspondence (same, but I do have a lot of e-cards he's sent me and some other things).

- Correspondence with our families (also limited, but his dad got our accommodations for my visit to see his family last Thanksgiving and forwarded us the reservation)

- Receipt, appraisal and photo of the engagement ring.

- More photos hopefully next month when I visit him.

- A few physical cards I received, which are hidden someplace. :P

- The required letter from him of his intent, but maybe I could write one as well.

It's a bit tough thinking of non-digital forms since we originally met online so mostly keep our daily conversations through IM and Skype. Will these be enough or can anyone suggest other things I could look into for evidence (we also use facebook so there's potential there as well).

You're in luck. If you're doing your interview in Montreal like we did, you'll probably find the document requirements for interview for to be minimal. They never asked for any relationship evidence of it in our interview. They weren't interested in our email correspondance, photos or our joint apartment lease. I think this becomes important in other countries that are not visa waiver countries with a higher volume of applications that are potentially fraudulent. In Montreal, they asked for none of this even though my alien spouse was not Canadian and only temporarily residing there.

Perhaps our posted February interview report for Montreal will be helpful.

The one thing we forgot to bring is a paper copy of the interview application. We completed the DS-260 electronic visa application. I think the DS-230 is the paper form people fill out in places that don't accept the DS-260. Montreal is unique in that, although you have submitted the DS-260, they actually ask to see a completed DS-230 form in the interview. We didn't have it but when we told the interviewer this, they didn't require us to obtain it and submit it to them later. But having a copy of it may help your interview complete more smoothly.

One other important thing for your interview....if you are not Canadian, you will need to produce a canadian visa or residence permit that demonstrates to the Montreal consulate that you have a right to remain in Canada for at least six months. This was an issue for us as our Canadian permits had less than six months left. We had to renew our Canadian permits and then email them to Montreal consulate before they would actually schedule the interview. This caused us a five week delay.

Good luck!

on the home page here in vj look at the top left hand side of the page you will find guides there click into it and look up canada and follow the guide to the letter and all will be good but off the cuff i would say phone bills of the last say three months chat logs one day out of each month for as far back as you can go plane tickets of vists to canada or him to the usa also any bank account statements that show you have and account together or any money sent from you to him or from him to you western union or maybe through money transfers also hotel receipt if you stay here or there also the object of the proof is to prove a on going relationship that spans a distance of time anyway read the guide its very helpful also so it will lighten the envelop that you send to the uscis ok then have a good day and good luck

My apologies. I just noticed this was a K-1 post. We were a different visa class.

Perhaps someone who did processed a K-1 can recall their Canadian experience?

again, I am sorry.

BBCC- I'm actually in Calgary, and yes this is a K-1, but thanks anyway. :)

charlie - Bank statements/paypal is a good idea, good thinking.. I've made a lot of purchases on my trips and have sent/been sent money a few times.. We're actually done with the USCIS now and dealing with the NVC and probably the US consulate.
