Ok guys,

one more time about the tax filing for my wife :)

this is the first time for us we're doing this, so would you be so kind to yell if something doesn't seem right. B-)

-My wife (the usc) and i weren't married before 02/2012, therefor we'll be filing the f1040 with Head of household (with qualifying person).

The kids are not dependent on her, so i mention their names on that same text field on item 4.

-I do not mention the kids as Exemption / dependents on item 6

-As we have no US income, nor deductions, we enter '0' on every field, beside line 21, where we enter her foreign income.

-we repeat that amount on item 38 and 41

-we enter '0' on every field under Taxes and credits & Payments

-She signs the document 1040

-We use form 2555EZ and pass the bonifide residence test

-In part II we enter the general info

-Part III shows here vacation in the US in 2011

-On item 14 she enter the amount of days 365 minus vacation days in the US

-To be short: on item 17 & 18 she enters her foreign income (below 90K USD), which is the same amount as on item 21 of f1040.

We repeat the previous steps for income year 2010 & 2009.

As far as i see it, it should be as simple as that. Am I missing something here?

I hope you can help me out with this, so we can get this behind us and can get back to more pleasant stuff :)

07/03/12: NOA 2 by E-mail - Your I-130 was approved in 7 days from your NOA1 date

12/03/12: File arrived at NVC

29/03/12: Confirmation of e-mailed DS-3032

30/03/12: Received DS-3032 / I-864 Bill by e-mail

04/04/12: I-864 & DS-230 fee bill paid.

05/04/12: NVC payment portal shows 'paid' status.

13/04/12: Sent out DS-230 & I-864 Package

16/04/12: DS-230 & I864 package received by NVC

21/04/12: Received Checklist for proof of of residency & foreign tax

25/04/12: Sent out reply on checklist

01/05/12: Telephone confirmation of a closed case!

11/05/12: Case complete e-mail and interview date

23/05/12: Medical

05/06/12: Interview!
