Hello fellow VJ,

How long does it take for NOA2 to get approved? Also what is the reason for it not to get approved. I am a bit worried am sending mine this Monday.

Thanks all.

Do you mean you're submitting the I-129F and supporting materials on Monday? If so, expect to wait a while before receiving the NOA2. Check the timelines (see the link above) to get an idea, but even that's just an estimate as it's based on people on this site who take the time to fill in their timelines. The length of time could depend on the country as well. You should fill in your information so people can provide more detailed responses.

On not getting approved, there are a host of reasons. To be sure you have everything prepared as is needed, just be sure to :guides:

Part Two: Entry and Adjusting Status:

POE: November 18, 2012 (at SFO) - Review

AP/EAD Approved: April 29, 2013 | Card Received: May 6, 2013 | AOS Interview Appt.: May 16, 2013 - Approved Review Card Received: May 24, 2013

Filed: Timeline

@Dan70: You should, all being well, get your NOA1 within a couple of weeks and your NOA2, if you listen to the general consensus, can take anything from 5-9 months to come through.

Problems could include that your not eligible to file (IMBRA/AWA for instance), in which case they'll mail you to tell you this fact.

The other problem you could experience is that you haven't included something that is mandatory for the process to continue (proof of your USC status, for example), in which case you'll receive an RFE (Request for Evidence). You'll need to do/get exactly what the request asks you to do/get and mail it back to them. In some cases people get their NOA2 after an REF in 3/4 days, others can wait up to 2 months. There's no rule in this regard.

Good luck in your journey!
