:( Just realised today that I forgot to send a cover letter with the 2001 readiness for interview form. Is this a major problem that will cause delays? I'm getting more and more anxious as the days are passing as I've moved home but was very clear on the packet 3 documents about it. :(

:bonk: you could call DOS and ask about your case... they will be able to tell you if the embassy have everything they need from you. i think though that i would print off a cover letter and mail that and another DS-2001 to the embassy

I think I'll wait it out this week - the Embassy should have had my medical docs for 2 weeks by Friday and if still nothing in the mail get my other half to call. Thanks for your advice :)

Anron,

What cover letter did you forget. There is no instructions from the embassy that a "cover Letter" is needed just the DS-2001, that is how the embassy knows you have submitted all documents.

You submitted your docs about the same time as Jodie, hopefully we all will receive word this week.

This is what the form that you received says: "You or your agent may notify the US embassy or consulate listed on the cover letter that you are ready for an interview by using this form DS2001."

On the London Embassy under Step 2 it says to include cover letter containing your email address, if applicable, date of your wedding and date of the medical examination. http://london.usembassy.gov/iv_15.html

I did write on the DS2001 when my medical was taking place but we haven't set a wedding date and since I stupidly missed the information I didn't put my email address on although I'm sure it's on the other forms.

I really wanted to be with my sweetheart for my birthday in April but I think that plan is slipping away... so near and yet so far....

Please drop me a message if you do hear something and I'll do likewise :) Fingers crossed for us all!

Please can you let us know that once the DS-2001 (readiness fom) is sent to the us embassy.

Do i have to call them on their Premium phone line and make the payment for the visa fee. or i have to wait for the appointment letter for the interview.

For the proof of ongoing relation do they want the picutres printed or they want them to be put on the CD.

Please reply as soon as possible. Your reply will be highly appreicated .

I paid for my visa about a week after i sent my DS-2001. They email you a letter with a barcode to print out to take to the interview with you. You wont be able to have your interview without it!!

London apparently isnt huge on proof of ongoing relationship, but Id print them out rather than put them on a cd. They probably dont hve time to look at photos on a disc.

You can pay before or after you get the appointment. Paying early doesn't speed up the interview letter.

They don't want to see your pictures at all. This is not Manila. London won't look at evidence of your relationship. Positive!

True!

I posted this in the NOA2 > Interview thread, but it seems like there was some issues with spouses going into the embassy yesterday with their partners for interviews. I wonder why this is.
