sending originals from Brazil to USA? Best way? Help

Hey everybody,

I am having my fiance sign her G-325A and send the other related originals (passport photo, letter of intent to marry) for me to submit for the I-129f. What is the most economical way for her to send these to me in a timely fashion? UPS, SedEx, DHL. Since originals are needed, I did not think a scanned image printed here will work?

You need the original signed forms. Make copies of them to keep for your records.

Fed-ex is the way to go. It's around $30 to over night paperwork. You really do get it the next day as long as it is sent from Canada before 1:00 pm.

When I sent in our I-130 I mailed it from Calgary, it was during the Canada Post strike over the summer, so I sent it from Staples through Purolator around noon. It got to Chicago the next day at 9:18am.

We used Canada Post to USPS ONE time and that's all it took. We spent $42 to have priority mail. It took it 12 days to arrive in the US.

USCIS- 260 Days

6/8/11~ Mailed I-130 Application, withdrew Canadian PR application
6/16/11~ NOA1 email and text message Case routed to CSC (Priority Date)
7/12/11~ The 'Money Order' Incident/Returned to Tennessee
8/03/11~ TOUCHED!

I personally would use Sedex, because the Brazilian mail system is so unreliable. I sent my docs to Brazil to get the marriage license down there via Fedex (who I think works with Sedex once the docs get to Brazil) and they got there in 3 days. BUT, it did cost me $80 to do this... It was necessary though, due to the huge time constraints I was faced with. Just make sure she sends you Everything you need the first time!!!

I will also mention that UPS has lost docs more than once, and this was in the USA. And, as I mentioned, Fedex was $80+, I guess the postage from Canada to the USA is less, but then again it's closer...

Edit, I guess Sedex IS the Correios, so I'm trying to find out for you. If I'm not mistaken, the US consulate in Brazil uses DHL.

I was advised by my brother-in-law to use Sedex, unless your fiancée has another option available to her (like DHL or fedex) in her city.
