I've found Progressive to be the cheapest for car insurance and they're service is pretty good too.

With all the caveats in my previous post, it seems that the normal method to rate multiple vehicle in a household, is to start with the 'worst' driver, and the vehicle they usually drive, then the next worst and so on with any extra vehicles being charged to the best driver rate.

So when you have multiple vehicles in one household, it usually makes sense to insure them all with one Insurer and for the worst driver to be driving the otherwise cheapest to insure vehicle.

It is very very different to the UK way, I hope I have explained it OK.

Also bear in mind that again with the caveats once you are with an Insurer they will usually not pull your DMV report so it makes it doubly difficult to move if you have picked up the odd ticket. Have an accident and they will so it could be doubly bad news.

It never makes sense to make small insurance claims so no point paying for low deductibles. Spend the money on decent limits.
