I think ive made a mistake..

My case got expedited at the NVC and is now at the London Embassy..

I am applying for a CR1 visa and i think i have made a mistake on the documents that i submitted to the embassy

I was told to:

Complete the Application for Immigrant Visa and Alien Registration, Form DS-230-Part 1 for each family member applying for a visa. (i included a signed Part I and unsigned Part II to be on the safe side)

and then to send the form Notification of Applicant(s) Readiness, Form 2001.

I also included a cover letter stating when i had my medical and my email adress to contact me on.

I did not include anything else. No barcoded sheet no recipts or anything. Was i meant to include anything else?

I rushed the forms because i had to be somewhere and have been feeling like ive missed something for the past few days now and it only just hit me that i had probably missed a vital form or piece of info.

Have i made a mistake?? The embassy wont tell me anything and very few people have expedited their case at the London Embassy, all the search results are coming up bare on my laptop and im going a little crazy. Help?

Here's what's going on....

You skipped NVC processing with the barcodes, Affidavit of Support, and documents mailed in. So because of your expedite, all that is handled at the embassy rather than NVC like most the other CR1/IR1 visas. Your process in London is most like the ones doing DCF (Direct Consular Filing).

You have done the right forms. Your instructions are here http://london.usembassy.gov/ds2001.html

I remember replying to you before that you should outline another expedite request directly to the embassy. Your cover letter with the DS-230 form and DS-2001 would have been a good time to do that....Forms and expedite request all together. Have you mentioned the expedite to London?

I also saw your post about calling and being told some number of weeks. The people that answer give standard scripted answers that apply to the masses and have little access to your actual file. The call center isn't even in London from what I've heard. If you made it clear in your cover letter that you had an expedited case then you should be granted an interview soon....as soon as your medical results are there. Has that happened? If you haven't made it clear about the expedite, and the medical is done, then do another DS-2001 and tell them you are totally ready, have complete the medical exam, and are in a hurry because____________. Tell them you are available on short notice if they have a cancellation.

Meanwhile you should already have in hand the documents needed for the interview. Review those here http://london.usembassy.gov/application_documents.html

So everything i have done so far is correct?

I have all the documents ready that i need for the interview along with everything that was meant to be sent to the nvc ready and waiting to take with me.

I was told i could not request an expedite at the embassy stage so i saw no point in outlining that i need one. I have had my medical and the embassy have recieved my results this week aslong with the forms i have previously stated that i have sent, are you suggesting that i send another DS2001 and push the fact that i would like an expedite? Im asuming that could not hurt my case and if its not possible they would just disguard the request but since my case has only been with them for 2 weeks i did not want to be too pushy about it because i dont want to seem like i have a false sense of importance here.

I have recieved nothing from the embassy at all so thank you so much for the reply, not many people seem to have expedited the case through the London embassy like this that i can find so i have had little or no guidance! Once again thank you!

Nothing ventured. Nothing gained. First of all I woudn't believe much the helpline person says. They get it wrong often. If you have a valid military expedite, then send in what you have like documents or military orders with a formal request. I don't know the back story but if USCIS expedited, then you must have had a good reason. Active military men ARE important to the US.

On the outside of your envelope write MILITARY EXPEDITE. Be polite but get noticed. Send it as speedy as you can...is there some kind of faster level of service. I don't know Royal Mail and such.
