What you need to do is make AT LEAST three copies of b/c and outline in a letter what your situation is. Specifically, get the tax documents from the IRS (your local office should be able to provide with the fax back number) for the years requested and outline what years that you are enclosing. Also, did you file income tax returns? If not do so. You are married, so make copies of your marriage certificate and send in the original or pay to get certified extracts and send in the original. MAKE EXTRA COPIES OF EVERY DOCUMENT that you send in. They want to know HOW you are related to the co-sponsor so your relationship between your FIL, wife and you must be shown. Outline it in a letter as well. Your marriage certificate will suffice to show that you are married and an nice letter explaining that you're related to the co-sponsor should do the trick. Make many copies of the documents and be prepared to follow up on this. That's it.

YES, you submit everything, let them figure it out. 50 pages or 500 pages, it doesn't matter. I would submit b/c for your wife showing your FIL as the father and, of course, your marriage certificate as well as marriage certificate of FIL. Better to give them more than they need then less. MAKE COPIES OF EVERYTHING you submit in triplicate, Be prepared for anything,
