After the 5 months of waiting and a congressman's help, USCIS issued us an RFE on 3rd, February, 2012 (Our NOA1 date is 26th, August 2011). This procedure has been so tedious, frustrating for us but we waited patiently for 7 days and still my fiance didn't receive the hardcopy letter. We are getting terribly worried and sick from this. Is it normal to take this long to get a letter from them? Whenever we see people whose filing dates are after us getting approved so fast compared to us, it pains us greatly. Should we call them and ask to resend us the letter? Please help us.

Patience is the key in this process.Hope you know the reason for the RFE,try gather documents to back up any reason for having a RFE.We also filled in August 5th but got approval on the 12 of January this year.if you can reply your RFE on time.you will get approved under 2 week.and after approval other stages are smooth.

Thank you guys for the kind replies! My fiance is still yet to receive the mail, called USCIS and couldn't get a helpful information as expected. He said they ended the conversation quickly. He just wants to punch them in the face. I guess we are just endlessly unlucky. Hopefully we will get the mail next week.
