Hello

I am a U.S. citizen and my wife is from Lebanon. I filed form I-130 for her and uscis states they got it October 11. It's been four months since then and when I track it on their site, it still says "initial review". I checked out the October filers on immigration.com and they almost all have their green cards already.

I have been living in Lebanon since May so that we could prepare everything for the wedding, we got married in August. I own a business in the U.S. and my whole family is there. How much longer must we wait to get so much as an update from USCIS?

After getting the approval from USCIS, how much longer does it take to finish up everything before we can go to the U.S. togeather? What's the procedure?

Thanks for the help!

If you want an estimate of when you may receive a decision, :time: . Be aware that timeline estimates are only as accurate as other people update their timelines and petitions submitted by VJ members only represent a fraction of the total petitions USCIS receives.

Posted estimated processing times by USCIS from receipt of petition to adjudication decision is 5 months. In your case, it may take less time than that, it may take more time than that. Other VJ members who have had their petitions sent to CSC have reported that it took 6-7 months before received a decision on their petition.

After getting the approval from USCIS, how much longer does it take to finish up everything before we can go to the U.S. togeather? What's the procedure?

Your file will then be sent to the NVC, expect to wait another month before a case number is assigned (and be pleasantly surprised if it does not take that long to receive a case number). Once a case number is assigned, the Affidavit of Support and Immigrant Visa bills will need to be paid. After the bills are paid, appropriate documentation will need to be send to the NVC. NVC processing can take as little as a few weeks if handled properly on the petitioner/beneficiary end (you can't control things on the NVC end). After the NVC has what they need and issues a "case complete," they will schedule an interview based on what the Embassy has told them is available.

Your best case scenario for an interview would be late June or July.

I am also from Lebanon and so far it has been almost six months and I still did not hear from them..

After they finally send the approval then they send it to NVC and it will probably take up to a month until its at Lebanon..

Then getting an interview in Lebanon doesnt take long about 3-4 wks..

Then after the interview if she is aprroved, they will tell her to come back in about a wk to get her visa..

You and ur luck..

I hate this whole process because you dont really know how long your going to be waiting!
