Hi everyone ... I guess im too excited too prepare everything already... My interview will be on April 22, last day of January I already requested for a police clearance here in dubai, got my clearance after 5 days only to find out its valid for 3 months paid 110 aed and will be needed to apply for a new one later of march. For the Medical went to Mideast polyclinic in deira they advised me to have the medical atleast 3 weeks prior to my interview. The medical is valid for 6 months only:)

uhmmm question regarding police clearance... Im from the Philippines and been working here in dubai since 2008, having my vacation yearly, but unfortunataly during my last vacation Nov 2011 i was only able to get police clearance from my province. Its not the NBI, I have my NBI but it was from 2008. they will not give NBI clearance because they require physical appearance.. will there be any problem with that? Any idea if our embassy here gives police clearance?

The NBI is valid for one year only. The one you have is outdated. You need to get a new one. Maybe someone from here will share if he/she submitted the PH Police Clearance instead of NBI. Your Dubai Police Clearance is too close to the expiry date. Hope the USEM won't bother checking the date you filed. I had my medical at NMC, more than a month prior to my interview. I don't know why MidEast Polyclinic said that. I would suggest you check at NMC. It is also less expensive at NMC compared to MidEast. As per USCIS standard validity for medical is one year. Chest X-Rays is normally valid 6months.

thank you rara and chym, im planning to repeat my dubai police clearance by march, for the medical there is no female doctor in nmc thats why im planning to have it in mideast. Mideast didnt say that i cant have my medical now, they just advised me to have the clearance near to the interview date because 2 mos in advance they said is too early. And for the NBI i know its outdated my dilemma is I cant go back to the Philippines just for that its too expensive, tried to ask if they will give me clearance they said not possible because there should be a physical appearance. thats why im wondering if there is some one here who can help if they know if its alright to have police clearance only from my province or if there is clearance given by the embassy.. again thanks

Who told you that there is no female doctor at NMC? I had my medical at NMC Al Qusais. Majority of the nurses and doctors are female.

We had our interview at Abu Dhabi a few years ago and had the police clearance not NBI. I think they were going to let us through with that alone but since we weren't planning on leaving for another 5 months they decided to have us get the NBI clearance. If I were you I would get the NBI clearance to avoid any possible delays.

We were able to obtain the clearance without a trip back to Philippines. My husband sent a cousin of his in Philippines to NBI with a note authorizing him to obtain the clearance for him as well as a fingerprint card I believe he got from the Philippine embassy in Dubai. I can't remember if he fingerprinted himself or took it to a police station to have it done. I'm sure the Philippine embassy would be able to explain proper procedure. No need to travel back to PH.

We also went to the polyclinic in Deira. It was closer to where we lived and we had no issues there.

Good luck!

Just checked, here's the DOS information on applying for NBI outside of the country:

Applicants residing outside the Philippines should send requests for certificates together with money orders or bank drafts for the fees and postage to IRD-Mailed Clearance Section, National Bureau of Investigation, Taft Avenue, Metro Manila, Philippines. Philippine Embassies abroad can assist Filipinos in obtaining NBI police clearances. The NBI has its own fingerprint charts and personal data forms that it will send to the requesting applicant for execution. Most applicants abroad find it more expeditious to have a relative or friend in the Philippines assist them in obtaining their certificates from the NBI. In that instance, a letter of authorization is required. The applicant may also submit a copy ("personal copy") of a prior NBI clearance to facilitate the processing of a new clearance.
