Port of Entry : Miami
POE Date : 2011-08-18
Got EAD Stamp :
Biometrics Taken :
Harassment Level : 5
Comments : It took me 4hours inside the immigration. What irritated the most was that they knew that a lot of people waiting their papers but the IO didn't care. Instead of expediting the processing they were chatting and laughing. Obviously, ceased working on the papers.

There was some harassment in terms of the time noting that some people inside that room traveled far. In other words, they are tired.

Consulate Review: United Arab Emirates
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : July 31, 2011
Embassy Review : I woke up at 2am on July 31, 2011. Took a cab going to US Embassy Abu Dhabi at 5am. Reached in the USEM at 6:13am, more than an hour before my interview at 8am. At 7:45am, security guard checked the passport and appointment letter. After 5minutes another security checked again the passport and appointment letter and advised to go the entrance door. Undergone the security checks.Felt like I was in the airport. Then, went through the office. The security guard gave me a number 002 (duplicate copy). When my number flashed in window 10, an Arabic lady took all my documents with a very strict face. She took all the filled forms. Of all the supporting documents I brought, she only asked me the tax transcripts (2007 to 2010) and one passport photo. The following documents were taken:
1) DS-156
2) DS-156K
3) DS-157
4) DS-230 with additional sheet
5) I-134
6) Tax Transcripts (2007 to 2010)
7) One passport photo
8) Payment AED 810
9) Original Passport
10) Embassy Copy of AED540 payment at NBAD
11) A4 size Medical Result (X-ray is excluded)

Strange but true. She didn't even bother to ask me my original BC, PC, NBI and Cenomar. She took one copy of my number, then she gave me a slip to pay to the cashier. After paying, my number flashed again at window 11 for digital finger printing (first 4fingers together left hand, then 4fingers right hand and two thumbs together) and all set for the interview. The cashier was so nice and she was the same person who conducted the finger printing. It was funny because she said to me,"hi, it's you again." After a few minutes, my number flashed at window 3. I was thinking that I have to sit down with the CO but I was wrong. I was standing and asked to pick up the phone and asked to raise my right hand to swear and sign the forms. Then, the interview started. The following questions were asked:

1) What is your full name?
2) What is your birth date?
3) Who is Randy (fiance)?
4) What he does for living?
5) What do you do for living?
6) Are you single? With kids or without?
7) Is he single? With kids or without kids?
8) When and where did you meet? Tell me something about it.
9) Did you meet in person? Is it in Dubai?
10) How long did he spend time with you, I mean your vacation together?
11) Why you didn't get married in PH?
12) Why are you going to marry him?
13) Are you aware that there is a 25years gap? How do you feel it? What's the reaction of your family?
14) Why are you going to marry an American not a Filipino? You know, the culture is totally different. Are you sure you can cope with the culture difference?

Honestly, she asked plenty of questions and the above mentioned were only those I remember. I just want to thank God that I answered everything sincerely. Then, after a while she took a pink slip and wrote something and showed me the paper and said, "This is the date you will come back. August 8, Monday at 1pm.If everything is ok, we will issue your visa. Don't forget to bring the slip and have a great day."

While approaching the toilet inside the embassy, a woman security guard asked, what is the result? I told her the same and showed the slip and she said congrats. The same thing what happened when I got out at the waiting area. So, I think I passed the interview however I can't wait till I see the visa in my passport.

Should you need what my answers were on the aforementioned questions feel free to ask.

August 8, 2011
On this day I collected my passport with my approved US K1 visa. It took me less than 30minutes inside the embassy. So now, waiting for my working visa cancellation, not to mention my gratuity.

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
